First Beach Trip

Well Brooke go to go to Gulf Shores this past weekend. It was a much needed get away for us and her. And for my Mom and Dad. We had a great time. The condo was ok, but the pool there was so nice! Thanks Hurricane Ivan!

She didn't like the pool at first but as she saw us in it more she got brave enough to walk into it. It was a zero entry pool so it was like walking into the water gradually. She would get all the way up to her tummy while walking. She would also stand in the baby pool and walk around the edges. I think it was a little over her waist deep but warmer than the big pool.

She loved the water at the gulf. She would let the waves come up and hit her little feet. She was a good shell collector and really enjoyed playing in the sand.

I hope that we can take her back before the summer is over. There was a little girl there that was 15 months old and she seemed to be enjoying the water more. I think that just a few months makes a huge difference at this age so I would love to take her back when she is 16 months or so.

We also visited the Gulf Coast Zoo which has been on Animal Planet. It was pretty neat. They had a lot of neat animals. I think the baby tiger cubs were the best. But it was hot and I can't say I blamed most of the animals for hiding out under shade in their areas. The goats were happy to come up to us for some food. They let you buy $2 cups of veggie puffs for the animals to eat. Pretty much all the animals that would get close to you would eat them.
